My life here

if i had to describe it in one word, then that word be 'awesome'. many soldiers are not as fortunate as me so each day they are in harms way risking their lives by doing their jobs. these soldiers are the ones that i look up to and respect the most, because no matter what is going on back home they still fight for the freedom that so many in america take for granted. only 1% of americans join the military so the few of us that are over here often feel alone because people back home dont really think about us that much, or we hear alot of negative news stories about the war.

but let me tell you what my experience has been. we came in to this country, set it free, set up bases, and are in the process of turning all of this over to the iraqi military. we train them in military tactics so that they can protect their borders and cities on their own. we even give them jobs at each of our bases and give them places to stay. sure, there are those who dont want us here, but those few are far outweighed by the ones who appreciate what we've done. hopefully soon we can pull out of iraq and let the new government have a chance to run on it's own.

my life here is great, i really do like it. but always remember that their are soldiers who aren't so lucky. please keep us all in your prayers, because each day we are here is one day away from our families and friends.
